- 8 ounces sliced ham
- 8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon mustard (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thick.
- If using mustard, spread a thin layer evenly across the pastry.
- Place the sliced ham in an even layer over the pastry, leaving a small border.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar over the ham.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Roll the pastry tightly from one end into a log, tucking in the edges as you roll.
- Slice the log into 1-inch thick pinwheels.
- Arrange the pinwheels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
