Description
Hearty and flavorful sandwiches made with seasoned ground beef and gooey cheddar cheese tucked inside crusty French bread.

- 1 loaf French bread
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3.5 ounces white cooking wine
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 10.75 ounces condensed cheddar cheese soup
- Dash of pepper
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and sauté until browned, about 5–7 minutes.
- Pour in white cooking wine and add garlic, onion powder, and a dash of pepper. Cook for another 2–3 minutes.
- Drain excess fat and return the meat mixture to the pan. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and cheddar cheese soup until melted. Remove from heat.
- Slice French bread into four sections and cut each in half vertically.
- Fill each sandwich half with one quarter of the meat mixture.
- Lightly spray the sandwich exteriors, wrap in aluminum foil, and place on a cookie sheet.
- Bake for 10–15 minutes or until heated through. Unwrap and enjoy!
Notes
Feel free to customize with different cheeses or additional vegetables. Make-ahead filling can deepen flavors for quick dinners.
