Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Cocoa powder (for dusting or coating)
  • Melted chocolate (for coating, optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the Heavy Cream: In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the heavy cream until it simmers; remove from heat before boiling.
  2. Add the Chocolate: Stir in the chocolate, letting it sit for a minute, then whisk until smooth.
  3. Incorporate Orange Zest and Juice: Fold in the orange zest and juice until well combined.
  4. Chill the Mixture: Cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours or until firm.
  5. Shape the Truffles: Scoop small amounts of the mixture and roll them into balls.
  6. Roll in Cocoa Powder or Chocolate: Roll truffles in cocoa powder or dip in melted chocolate if desired.
  7. Let Them Set: Place truffles on a parchment-lined tray and chill until set.

Notes

These truffles keep well in the fridge for a week and can be frozen for later enjoyment.
