A stunning and indulgent brunch centerpiece that combines the sweetness of ripe strawberries with creamy custard in a baked French toast casserole.

- 1 loaf of French bread (cubed)
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups of milk
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 2 cups of fresh strawberries (sliced)
- Butter (for greasing the casserole dish)
Instructions
- Cube the French bread and place it evenly in a greased casserole dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth.
- Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes and press gently to ensure absorption. Add the sliced strawberries on top.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly, slice, and serve warm with maple syrup and powdered sugar.
Notes
Make-ahead options are available; prepare the night before and refrigerate until ready to bake. This dish can also be made in an air fryer.
