Description

Delight in the fusion of fresh strawberries and rich cheesecake, all enveloped in a fluffy, golden donut for a unique treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar; let it sit until foamy (5-10 minutes).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and remaining sugar. Add yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg; mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth. Let rise in a greased bowl, covered, for 1 to 1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
  4. Roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thick and cut out donuts. Allow to rest for 20-30 minutes while heating oil in a deep pan to 350-360°F (175-180°C). Fry donuts for 1.5-2 minutes per side until golden.
  5. For the filling, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth, then fold in strawberry jam.
  6. Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  7. Inject filling into warm donuts and dip or drizzle with glaze. Let glaze set for 15-20 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider using an air fryer. Refrigerate dough overnight for convenience.
