Description

A classic dessert featuring light, flaky biscuits, vibrant strawberries, and creamy whipped topping, capturing the essence of summer in each bite.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for strawberries)
  • Whipped cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a mixing bowl and whisk until blended.
  3. Cut the cold, cubed butter into the dry mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and stir just until combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, pat it into a 1-inch thick layer, and cut into rounds.
  6. Place the biscuits onto a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Mix sliced strawberries with 1/4 cup sugar and let sit for 15 minutes.
  8. Slice the baked biscuits in half horizontally.
  9. Layer on macerated strawberries and whipped cream on the bottom biscuit half.
  10. Cap with the top half of the biscuit, serve immediately.

Notes

For maximum freshness, assemble right before serving. Prepare the biscuits a day in advance and store them in an airtight container.
