Description

A classic fruit salad combining sweetness and creaminess, perfect for summer gatherings and potlucks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks (drained)
  • 1 cup mandarin oranges (drained)
  • 1 cup grapes (halved)
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather your mixing bowl and combine the mini marshmallows, well-drained pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, halved grapes, and shredded coconut.
  2. Feel free to reserve a few coconut flakes for garnish.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the whipped topping, sour cream, and sugar (if desired) until smooth.
  4. The sugar enhances the sweetness, but you can skip it for a more natural finish.
  5. Gently pour the creamy dressing over the fruity mixture.
  6. Use a spatula to fold the ingredients together, aiming for an even coat without mashing.
  7. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.
  8. Chilling allows the flavors to meld, resulting in an even more harmonious dish.

Notes

Ambrosia Salad tastes even better the next day as the flavors deepen. Customize with additional fruits or use coconut whipped cream for a vegan version.
