Description

A comforting and hearty casserole featuring creamy chicken, melted cheese, and crispy tater tots, perfect for family dinners and gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken, cooked and shredded
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 bag of frozen tater tots
  • 1/2 cup frozen mixed vegetables (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and mixed vegetables if using. Mix well.
  3. Grease your 9×13 inch baking dish thoroughly.
  4. Spread the chicken mixture evenly across the bottom of the baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the chicken mixture.
  6. Arrange the tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese, overlapping slightly.
  7. Slide the dish into your preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

You can prepare the casserole ahead of time and refrigerate overnight. Add a few extra minutes to baking time if starting from cold.
