Description

A delightful breakfast casserole that transforms flaky croissants into a rich and creamy dish filled with savory meats and melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 6 flaky croissants, torn into pieces
  • 1 cup deli meat (ham, turkey, or chicken), chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Swiss)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Optional: chopped fresh herbs (parsley or chives)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
  3. Grease your 9×13-inch baking dish generously with butter or cooking spray.
  4. Layer the torn croissants evenly in the dish.
  5. Scatter the chopped deli meat over the croissants, followed by the shredded cheese.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over everything, gently pressing down the croissant pieces.
  7. Allow the casserole to sit for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the egg is set.
  9. Dust with fresh herbs if desired and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, allow croissants to sit out for a few hours for optimal absorption. This casserole can also be prepared ahead of time and left in the fridge overnight.
