Ingredients

- 2 cups whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- A pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Malt biscuits
- Optional: Fresh fruits, chocolate drizzle, or toasted nuts
Instructions
- Whisk together the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a medium saucepan until smooth.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat for about 8-10 minutes, stirring frequently, until it thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract, allowing them to melt.
- Let it cool slightly for about 10 minutes.
- Layer the malt biscuits in your serving dish, spooning custard over. Repeat until all is used.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least two hours to set.
- Serve chilled and garnish as desired.
Notes
Can be made a day in advance for best flavor. Avoid cooking over high heat to prevent curdling.
