Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze, optional)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for glaze, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare it for the rolls.
  2. Mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add the Greek yogurt and applesauce to the dry mixture. Combine until a soft dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface, and roll it into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick.
  5. Spread brown sugar and cinnamon over the dough.
  6. Roll the dough tightly to form a log.
  7. Cut the roll into 1-inch thick slices and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Brush the tops with melted butter.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Mix powdered sugar with milk for the glaze and drizzle over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

For gluten-free options, use a gluten-free flour blend. Can be made ahead by refrigerating the dough overnight.
