Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Create the roux by stirring in the flour until thickened for about one minute.
  3. Whisk in the milk gradually to prevent lumps for 3-4 minutes until thickened.
  4. Add cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt while mixing until melted and creamy.
  5. Serve over tortilla chips or as a dip.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week. Reheat gently with a splash of milk for the best consistency.
