Description

A nostalgic treat with buttery sweetness and a delightful stretch, perfect for snacking or gifting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Combine the granulated sugar, heavy cream, butter, corn syrup, and vanilla extract in a heavy saucepan.
  2. Stir gently to mix the ingredients.
  3. Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring continuously until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 5 minutes.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, monitoring it closely until it reaches the soft ball stage at 240°F.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and allow it to cool slightly.
  6. Grease your hands with butter, then begin pulling the candy by stretching and folding it until it becomes lighter in color and a silky texture, about 7-10 minutes.
  7. Shape the pulled candy into logs or bite-sized pieces and dust lightly with powdered sugar.
  8. Allow the candy to set for a few hours at room temperature before cutting it into individual pieces.

Notes

Store in an airtight container. Can be made several days in advance.
