Instructions
- Combine the granulated sugar, heavy cream, butter, corn syrup, and vanilla extract in a heavy saucepan.
- Stir gently to mix the ingredients.
- Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring continuously until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 5 minutes.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, monitoring it closely until it reaches the soft ball stage at 240°F.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and allow it to cool slightly.
- Grease your hands with butter, then begin pulling the candy by stretching and folding it until it becomes lighter in color and a silky texture, about 7-10 minutes.
- Shape the pulled candy into logs or bite-sized pieces and dust lightly with powdered sugar.
- Allow the candy to set for a few hours at room temperature before cutting it into individual pieces.
