Delicious mini donut bites with a crispy exterior and tender inside, lightly coated in cinnamon-sugar.

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp instant yeast
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- Oil for frying
- 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
- 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Combine the warm milk, yeast, and sugar in a mixing bowl and let it rest for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt in another bowl.
- Pour the frothy yeast mixture into the flour mixture along with the melted butter and stir until a soft dough forms.
- Toss the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, divide it into bite-sized portions, and roll into small balls.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the dough balls in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, then drain on paper towels.
- Roll warm donut bites in a mixture of sugar and optional cinnamon.
Notes
For a healthier alternative, consider using an air fryer instead of frying.
