Description

A stunning dessert featuring a crispy meringue shell and a soft, marshmallow-like interior, topped with whipped cream and fresh berries.


Ingredients

  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Assorted fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Beat the egg whites on medium speed until soft peaks form.
  3. Add the granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, mixing well until glossy and stiff peaks form.
  4. Incorporate cornstarch and vinegar gently.
  5. Spread the meringue onto the prepared baking sheet, creating a slight well in the center.
  6. Bake for 1 hour, then turn off the oven, allowing the meringue to cool completely inside.
  7. Whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  8. Top the cooled meringue with whipped cream and an assortment of fresh berries.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Meringue can be made a day in advance and stored at room temperature. Top with cream and berries on the day of serving for freshness.
