- 4 large egg whites
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Assorted fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Beat the egg whites on medium speed until soft peaks form.
- Add the granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, mixing well until glossy and stiff peaks form.
- Incorporate cornstarch and vinegar gently.
- Spread the meringue onto the prepared baking sheet, creating a slight well in the center.
- Bake for 1 hour, then turn off the oven, allowing the meringue to cool completely inside.
- Whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Top the cooled meringue with whipped cream and an assortment of fresh berries.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
Meringue can be made a day in advance and stored at room temperature. Top with cream and berries on the day of serving for freshness.
