Description

A comforting and flavorful casserole combining sweet potatoes, garlic, onions, and a crunchy topping, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and chop the sweet potatoes.
  3. Boil them in salted water until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Drain the sweet potatoes and return them to the pot.
  5. Add the milk, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; mash until smooth.
  6. Pour into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  7. Prepare the topping by mixing melted butter with walnuts and breadcrumbs.
  8. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the sweet potatoes.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Serve warm as a delightful side dish.
