Description

Delightful sourdough bread that is soft, fluffy, and perfect for sandwiches or simply with butter.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the sourdough starter and warm water. Mix until a cohesive dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Add olive oil and continue kneading for another 5 minutes.
  5. Shape the kneaded dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover it and let it rise for about 1-2 hours.
  6. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
  7. Cover the loaf pan with a towel and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  8. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Bake the loaf for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Cool in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Make the dough the evening before for overnight rising; adjust baking time for smaller batches in an air fryer.
