Description

A versatile and flavorful soft sourdough sandwich bread perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Combine the sourdough starter, warm water, and sugar in a large mixing bowl; stir until fully dissolved.
  2. Add the flour, salt, and olive oil gradually; mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp towel, and let it rise for 1-2 hours.
  5. Punch down the dough gently to release the air, then shape it into a loaf.
  6. Cover and let it rise again for about 30-60 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow the bread to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

For deeper flavors, let the dough rise slowly in the fridge overnight. Use warm water to kickstart your starter.
