Description

A savory Italian meatloaf filled with gooey mozzarella and topped with rich marinara sauce, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, Italian seasoning, garlic, onion, milk, and egg in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Shape the meat mixture into a rectangle on parchment paper, leaving a space in the center for the mozzarella.
  4. Roll the meatloaf over the cheese, sealing the edges well.
  5. Place the rolled meatloaf in a baking dish and cover with marinara sauce.
  6. Bake for approximately 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  7. Rest the meatloaf for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve with additional marinara sauce and side dishes like garlic bread or mashed potatoes.
