Description

Delight in the perfect blend of crunchy apples coated in smooth, glossy toffee.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 small apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
  • Red food coloring (optional)
  • Wooden sticks or skewers

Instructions

  1. Prep the apples by washing and drying them, then inserting a wooden stick into each.
  2. Prepare the toffee mixture by combining sugar, water, corn syrup, and vinegar in a saucepan.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat until it reaches 300°F on a candy thermometer.
  4. Add red food coloring if desired, stirring until well combined.
  5. Dip the apples into the hot toffee and allow excess to drip off before placing them on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Cool the coated apples for about 20 minutes until the toffee is set.

Notes

Ensure apples are completely dry before dipping to avoid sticky toffee. Use a candy thermometer for best results!
