- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
- Red food coloring (optional)
- Wooden sticks or skewers
Instructions
- Prep the apples by washing and drying them, then inserting a wooden stick into each.
- Prepare the toffee mixture by combining sugar, water, corn syrup, and vinegar in a saucepan.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat until it reaches 300°F on a candy thermometer.
- Add red food coloring if desired, stirring until well combined.
- Dip the apples into the hot toffee and allow excess to drip off before placing them on a greased baking sheet.
- Cool the coated apples for about 20 minutes until the toffee is set.
Notes
Ensure apples are completely dry before dipping to avoid sticky toffee. Use a candy thermometer for best results!
