- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a cupcake tray with liners.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Incorporate eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
- Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
- Mix the dry ingredients and milk into the butter mixture, alternating between the two.
- Fill each cupcake liner two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
For a richer flavor, substitute half of the sugar with brown sugar or try almond extract for a twist.
