Description

Delicious and fluffy vanilla cupcakes perfect for any occasion, topped with your choice of frosting.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a cupcake tray with liners.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Incorporate eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
  5. Mix the dry ingredients and milk into the butter mixture, alternating between the two.
  6. Fill each cupcake liner two-thirds full with batter.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

For a richer flavor, substitute half of the sugar with brown sugar or try almond extract for a twist.
